A big congratulations to our ATRS Michigan team, winners of the Market of the Year 2014! Manager Paul Koich led the group – including Cat, Pat and Mike – to this honor. Chief Operating Officer Gilbert Regalado surprised them with the plaque at last month’s Corporate Conference in Houston. Here are just a few of the winning strategies this group of high achievers has implemented in the Mitten State for a greener tomorrow:

Throughout the past year, our Michigan team has tirelessly supported their local charitable partner, the Michigan Humane Society. The MHS is a private, non-profit organization providing animal welfare, shelter and adoption services to the metropolitan Detroit area and beyond. Every pound collected through the Clothing & Shoe Recycling partnership in the Michigan area directly supports spays, neuters, rescues and pet adoptions in the local community. The team has increased donations in the region by over 10% each month, which has greatly impacted the number of animals rescued and served.

Additionally, Paul, Cat, Pat and Mike have helped spread the word about the importance of clothing donations and textile recycling throughout area communities. By participating in Earth Day events, school recycling drives and municipal collection programs, they’ve helped Michigan residents divert tons of pounds of discarded textiles from local landfills.

“I am so blessed,” Paul said among receiving the Market of the Year plaque at the conference. “It’s absolutely all about the team. We’ve got great stability, great knowledge and great practices in place.”

The Market of the Year award recognizes the Michigan team’s dedication to greening the neighborhoods where we live, work and play! We are very happy to have Paul, Cat, Pat and Mike as part of the extended ATRS family, and look forward to many more years of service to the Michigan community.
