‘Tis the season to be jolly! It’s the time of year when spirits are high, cheer is bountiful and giving is endless. We are especially grateful for the amazing charitable organizations we partner with across the country that spend each and every day helping others. This holiday they need your support more than ever. From assistance groups and shelter homes to animal rescues and national nonprofits, there’s no end to the inspiring causes you can directly impact this season. Here’s how some of our partners are giving back and what you can do to help:

Catholic Charities Community Services, Arizona

On December 20, take a bus ride with Catholic Charities Community Services (CCCS) down to Nogales to experience Mexican culture and learn how they celebrate Christmas. The Kino Border Initiative is offering a memorable celebration known as “Posada,” which is a re-enactment of Mary & Joseph’s search for lodging in Bethlehem. Join CCCS & Kino Border for a day of food, music, customs & celebration. A mere $25 covers your bus ride and authentic festival food so you can join our partners in this traditional experience!

Children’s Miracle Network, Dallas

This holiday season, CBS Radio stations are teaming up with Children’s Health & Children’s Miracle Network for the 10th annual Christmas is for Children Radiothon. Tune into 98.7 KLUV on December 10 & 11 for a live broadcast. The hospital will conduct personal interviews, share heart-warming miracle stories and encourage listeners to make donations to support the young patients that Children’s Health and Children’s Miracle Network serve year round.

City of Refuge, Atlanta

Celebrate Christmas in the City on December 5 as City of Refuge (COR) makes Atlanta a little more festive for the holiday season! COR will be hosting a decorating party and they need volunteers to help deck the halls and trim the trees. As we all know, a decorating party can’t happen without supplies, so COR has created a wish list of decorations needed for Christmas in the City. Whether it’s a star to top the tree or a pack of ornaments, a little donation goes a long way.

Giving Children Hope, California

Give hope for the holidays by donating a toy to a child in need! This season, Giving Children Hope (GCH) will be hosting a toy drive for school kids enrolled in the “We’ve Got Your Back” nutrition program. This initiative to feed hungry, homeless students is supported year round by ATRS Clothing & Shoe Recycling. GCH has pledged to provide presents for more than 4,000 children which can’t be done without your help. There are three different ways to support this initiative, which you can learn about here.

Michigan Humane Society

Give animals warmth this season, not only in their hearts but also by providing them with medical care and physical shelter. Michigan Humane Society (MHS) is hosting “All I Want is Love,” a holiday fundraiser drive. Donations made during the drive will provide vaccinations, life saving medical care and emergency rescue for animals in need throughout the Mitten State. Your gift to MHS will help animals find love and a forever home this holiday.

The Arc of Greater Beaumont, Greater Houston

Join The Arc of Greater Beaumont for sensory play, holiday crafts and a visit from Santa Clause himself on December 6! Their holiday party, taking place at the Beaumont Children’s Museum, is for families of children with intellectual & developmental disabilities and families of children with autism. It is a fun and festive way for families to meet and find support in the community while the children make new friends. Please RSVP if you plan on attending.

Weldon House, Phoenix

This year, the annual Weldon House Christmas Party will be on December 12. Although this event is not open to the public, Weldon House is in need of support in order to host its special celebration for the 40 kids and 22 mothers served by this sanctuary home. Team ATRS Arizona sponsors the Weldon House Christmas Party each year by providing food, decorations, a tree, party essentials and most importantly gifts for the residents in recovery and their children. ATRS is collecting gift cards from local grocery stores, Walmart, Target and private sponsors to raise around $6,000 to fund this party. Ring in the Christmas spirit at Weldon House by making a heartfelt contribution!

Give Back Year Round

There are so many ways to support your local charities throughout the holiday season and all year round. ATRS makes it easy to contribute to these worthy nonprofits simply by donating into your neighborhood ATRS Clothing & Shoe Recycler. Your gently used, wearable clothing, shoes, toys & household textiles help create funding for neighborhood programs and services each and every month. More than ever, we need your donations through the holidays to help those in need. Join the ATRS family by cleaning out your closets and giving the gift of warmth with items you no longer need!
